Dinglehat Knitbeard

I received a fantastic knitted gnome for -Insert Culturally Relative Winter Solstice Celebration Here- and thought he deserved a portrait. I think it's a pretty good likeness.

Xmas Market Goodies (Part 11)

The saturday Xmas market is drawing ever closer and I'm doing my best to prepare enough of these illustrated notebooks/boxes/memo pads as I can! Here are three simple notebooks, featuring a young adventurer lass ready to face a giant, an icy warrior woman and a fairy reading a book of spells.

'Spell Book' Memo-pad box decoration process

Hello everyone. Today I thought I'd share the process behind the decoration of my latest product for the upcoming xmas market stall. I started with a plain cardboard memo-pad box. First I drew the book cover and emblem design in pencil, then went over with thin-point pens, adding swirls and cross-hatching pattern.

Next I used a gold posca pen to fill in the thicker borders on the corners and spine of the book.

Thirdly, I started to fill in with coloured pencils before finally adding a last bit of shading and painting over with varnish.

Happy Birthday, Natalie!

It's the birthday of famed unicorn, dragon and crystal-loving, monster fighting, webcomic-making artist Natalie, so here is an appropriately wacky portrait. Have a great day, Nat!

Xmas Market Goodies (Part 7)

It's been a while (I've been ill, busy and had some work related problems to sort out) but I finally managed to get at least one creative job done: another illustrated notebook, this time with a vegetable pattern!

Flint Sword Warrior

Here's a little fantasy character sketch while I try to finish recovering from this damn cold. A little warrior girl with sort of scuba diver armour and a massive flint blade sword. And feathers in her hat because I love feathers.
Ugh.
