D&D: Lothar Lightbringer

Season's Greetings, everyone!
The holidays are approaching, as well as a friendly Dungeons and Dragons party to kick off the new year with a bang (or a whimper, depending on how our adventurers get on!).
My character, Pythia, is joined by Lothar Lightbringer (played by our friend Lucien), a noble paladin dwarf, worshipper of Tyr and owner of his own brewery. He enjoys beard grooming and clonking things on the head.

D&D: Character Sheet

In preparation for an upcoming decembercandlesolsticemas D&D party, I designed and filled in a character sheet for my character Pythia Sly, the lizard-folk rogue. It's a simplified version of the 5th edition adventure sheet, and you can download a copy of it here if you like the look of it)

Xmas Market Goodies: 2016 - Part 1

Greetings and salutations to you all and to all a good night!
It's Decembercandlesolsticemas once again, and that means seasonal market goodies.
I have started with some notepad boxes, decorated to look like fantasy spell-books. More to come soon, so stay tuned!

D&D: Pythia Sly (New Character)

While Astrid sets about finishing off the D&D adventure she's writing for me, I've just finished creating the character I'll be playing for it: Pythia Sly, a teenage lizardfolk girl rogue and former street urchin who loves loot and has a lisp.

D&D: Hi, I'm Portia! - First Time DMing

Today I had my first experience as a Dungeon Master for a DnD adventure I created for Astrid.
It was challenging but, considering this was my first time as a game master and not a player, I think I did a pretty decent job. It had goblins and an abandoned mine and a missing child and lots of weird and scary plant monsters and it was great, trust me.
Here is the character Astrid created and played for the adventure, Portia Tilbin the Halfling Rogue Acolyte of Istus, as well the map of the mine I drew.

Card Game Project: Menderbots!

Greetings and Salutations, all!
It's been a good while since I posted an update on my card game (busy as I have been with work and designing fantasy animal adventurers for my new blog).
In my ongoing attempt to find a cohesive theme for the game, I have opted for a kind of fantasy factory feel, in keeping with the game mechanics and card design (assembling/building machinery).
This decision has however highlighted a problem: while a cool idea, the Chameleon Cards didn't really fit in with the rest of the game, and so needed a redesign. Their function as 'blank-scrabble-tile's will be the same, but I've replaced the chameleon with a little robot helper: Menderbot!

The Big Blue Boy-Scout

My ideal Superman. Period setting. Big, clumsy, socially awkward Clark. Home-made costume. Corny humour and cheesy heroics. Just a nice guy trying to help people.

World's Smallest Heroes: Hand-coloured

Had another go at colouring these two fellows (this time by hand with stabilo fine-tip pens and blendable pencils)

Roll for Inspiration: Splinterhell!

I've created a drawing/character creation prompt which utilises all the classic RPG dice (D20 to D4), where each number on each die represents a race, class, weapon, skill, artefact and spell.
My first roll created a fairy warrior wielding a hammer, with amazing stamina, bracelets of power and a shield spell. I call her Splinterhell.

D&D: Mean Green Hog Queen

Next time I play D&D, I am definitely playing as a punk biker Orc chick with a chopper-style motorised unicycle. Called Angerfang Rockwolf... or Angie to her friends. (credit to Astrid for the motor-uni-cycle idea).

Yattamics Mural Competition

Today I painted my very first mural! I was supposed to use spray paint, but opted to use brushes and emulsion. I'm one of the five finalists who got to paint their submitted superhero mural design around town. Mine features the Milestone/DC superhero Static! I was admittedly quite worried it wouldn't turn out so well but in the end I'm really happy with the way it turned out!
